Feb 16th 2012 bottom game
Our trip start early around 5am because our main plan is to casting barramundi in pulau melayu estuary. But since the water is not suitable,we change to bottom fishing using dead prawn as bait. We caught 3 sembilang, a belukang,a baby daun baru, some unknown fish to me and crab. Our catch overall is 1kg in weight.
Kak ty with her sembilang just near the rock. There is a lot species of fish near or in the rock area like baby kerapu,betutu,sembilang and saltwater eel. The best bait to fish in this area is stinky dead bait like fish,chicken liver and shrimp/prawn Belukang of the day
Oke with first catch of sembilang. We end our trip around 12 because its getting sunny and of course hungry belly...
Haruan Game
Haruan (channa striata) in Miri. We caught a lot of this fish along the trench and shallow swamp from senadin to kuala baram highway. Most of them still too small,but its very fun because it will attack most any type of lure or bait you're using. Sometimes it will attack the lure 2 or 3 times if it still can't get it. We used cheap lure like suzi-o frog and bakau frog and it works very well. Sometimes we use a live frog as well. Other lure like berkley soft plastic also work excellent. Even we only caught small one...no words can described how fun it was.
